These days accidents have become part and parcel of our daily life. The year 2010 seems to be unlucky for India and for Congress government since the number of accidents in this year have crossed hundreds.
The train Jnaneshwari Express got derailed in West Bengal on Friday resulting in the death of seventy-three passengers and some 138 are injured. At 2250 hours,Jnaneshwari Express left Howarh for Mumbai but soon got derailed around 0130 hours near Saridha due to suspected Maoists sabotage.A goods train came from opposite direction and rammed into the derailed coaches of Jnaneshwari Express. This incident inflicted heavy casualties since many passengers got trapped in the mangled coaches of Jnaneshwari Express and goods train.

Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee is suspecting Maoists involvement in the accident and Railway authorities said that a bomb blast had caused the derailment of the train.Officials of South Eastern Railways found the presence of gelatin sticks and TNT explosives on the track.
But West Bengal officials including DGP Bhupinder Singh and Law and Order Surojit Karpurokayastha said that fish plates had been removed and pandrol clips had been found missing which is the main reason behind this debacle. They are not sure whether any explosives were used by the Maoist at the accident site or not.

Union Home Minister P.Chidambaram had expressed his condolence for the tragedy and had deployed the National Disaster Response Force(NDRF) comprising 132 personnel to assist the Railway authorites.Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee had announced an ex gratia of Rs.5 lakh and a railway job to the relatives of dead and Rs.1 lakh to the people who are injured.
The same old saga had been repeated and in future we would see more accidents and hopefully our government will again give some condolences to the family of dead but would never try to ameliorate their system.
