According Mercer’s 2009-2010 National Cost of Living survey, Monterrey due to it’s high energy consumption and elevated costs in food and staples, has once again earned the title as the most espensive city in Mexico.
According to the document the geographical location of Monterrey, ranks as the most expensive to implement a high expenditure of energy consumption in relation to others such as the Federal District, Mexico’s capital, which is used as the constant in comparing other cities in the country.
Ranking second in the survey was Los Cabos, Baja California Sur, followed by Cancun, Quintana Roo.
In fourth place is Tijuana, Baja California, and fifth place in Guadalajara, Jalisco.
The least expensive cities were ranked as Tlaxcala, followed by Tepic, Durango, Pachuca and Chetumal.
