5 Simple Skin Care Tips for Busy Moms

I don’t know about you, but my morning routines are so “all over the place” that I barely have time to throw on some lip gloss, let alone find the time to really moisturize and exfoliate my skin. From getting the older kids off to school to caring for the needs of the younger children, sometimes I’m lucky if I get to eat breakfast at a decent hour. For me however, I know that if I don’t stop to care for myself it will begin to show up everywhere – especially the skin. When I’m stressed, pimples pop up all over the place. When I’m dehydrated, the skin looks dry and flaky. It’s like I can’t catch a break.

Taking care of my skin is important to me, but when you have little time on your hands, there’s no room to sit and go through a five step processes to get your skin healthy. I’m sure I’m not the only woman that wishes she could slap on one product and be done, but since they haven’t yet invented that one “cure all” skin care product, finding easy ways to care for your skin the regular basis is the next best solution. Below are some tips on how to care for your skin in just a few short minutes.

1.  Wash Your Skin Daily

There are so many skin care products on the market, that knowing which ones to choose can be downright stressful. What I’ve found however is that you don’t necessarily need to invest in fancy products to have gorgeous skin. Good old fashioned soap (a mild and unscented soap) and water can actually remove a lot of the toxins, dirt, and bacteria from your skin for you. So while you’re in the shower or in the few minutes that you’re able to brush your teeth. Take a clean rag, lather it in soap and wash your face.

2.  Moisturize Your Skin

We’re constantly exposed to various elements of the weather and hydration is necessary to prevent the skin from looking dry and flaky. Again, you don’t need to invest in high priced skin care products (unless that’s you’re preferred method of skincare). All you need is a good lotion to throw on your face after getting out of the shower. Make sure that the lotion you choose is light and unscented as you don’t want to cause other skin conditions by irritating your skin or clogging your pores.

Hydration Tip: Carry around a water bottle with you for a better part of the day. Drinking water as required each day can actually help to keep the skin hydrated from the inside out. If you’re not too keen on water you could always add fruit to it to make it taste a bit better.

3.  Use Sunscreen

Whether you apply makeup to your face or not it is ideal that you utilize sunscreen to protect your skin from the damaging effects of the sun. Ultraviolet rays can actual cause common skin issues such as wrinkling, moles, and skin cancer. The great news is that there are plenty of products that double as sunscreen including lotion with SPF included or makeup. Using at least SPF 15 is recommended for the best protection.

4.  Pop a Multivitamin

There are some nutrients and vitamins that can do wonders for the skin, but if you’re not getting enough of it in your daily meals then taking a vitamin on the daily basis is important. There are specialized vitamins that focus specifically on hair, skin, and nails that can be taken on the daily basis.

5.  Use All Natural Fast Application Products

If you’re dealing with a skin condition such as acne, skin tags, wrinkles, etc., then investing in skin care products is ideal to remedy the matter. However, since you’re on the go you don’t want to invest in treatments or products that require several steps. Instead, shop for all natural products that have an easy application process. For example, if you suffer from skin tags, there are natural skin tag removal products on the market that simply require a small dab of the product on the affected area and you’re good to go. Look for an all-in-one product so that it’s an easy application process that won’t slow you down.

We want to look and feel our best at all times. However, as you’re probably aware, once you have children, your personal needs tend to take a back seat. If you suffer from common skin conditions or simply want to improve the look of your skin, but can’t seem to find the time. These options will surely help you get the job done. Remember; only invest in skincare products if absolutely necessary as many products that can benefit your skin can be found in your home already. When you do need products, try investing in all natural, easy to apply products so you can treat your skin and go.
