$6400 worth of marmalade!

marmalade

Jam and marmalade maker Duerr has apparently concocted an orange marmalade worth $6402 to commemorate the 125th birthday of the Company. Facts provide that 500ml of vintage Pol Roger champagne worth $445, 82ml of Dalmore worth $4,418, 500g of Seville oranges, imported from Spain, and $153 worth of edible gold leaf have all gone inside a silver-lidded, crystal glass container to create ultimate luxury in the world of marmalades and fruit spreads.

Doubtless of the fact that the jam maker has applied a higher degree of technology from letting the marmalade go syrupy because of the added alcohol, what might appeal the lovers of this imperial concoction is that it has moved beyond traditional recipe to include the smooth but bold vanilla and hazelnut flavors of alcohol.

The idea is not new, as marmalade makers have always fancied the idea of substituting orange liquer with whiskey and champagne that complement the flavors of marmalade. Nevertheless, having both whiskey and champagne together in one jar is like throwing a challenge to the consumers where the mouth binding flavors look over the price. The bet here can be that the marmalade might jump from a plain toast to smoothies, desserts, meat, poultry and vegetables.
