Fleur du Cap wins Gold at 2006 International Wine Challenge

fleur du capA wine journal has reported that Fleur du Cap Unfiltered Semillon 2004 has won a gold medal at the 2006 International Wine Challenge in London. The wine extracted this medal from among 324 wines in the competition and a prestigious panel of wine experts judged it for its flavor and body. The journal reports that this wine distilled from Stellenbosch region comprises of a wide array of distinct flavors, which makes it an apt wine for pairing with seafood as well as poultry dishes.

As per Kobus Gerber, winemaker of Fleur du Cap white wines:

Lightly wooded, this full-bodied Semillon is packed with seductive honey, butterscotch, spice and baked apple aromas on the nose. The palate is complex yet elegant showing a bright racy acid and heaps of citrus and dried peach flavors.

With more and more countries participating in this competition every year, it becomes an encouragement for the wine-makers and the plummeting sales of wine along with promoting the new wine for summer this year.
