drumsickThe drumstick tree (Moringa oleifera) is a cylindrical fruit with three pods, which look like transparent seed and it is very chewy. The tree’s bark, roots, leaves and flowers are good for health.

This drumstick is pan-fried in Orissa with lots of spices. Cut drumstick into half inch long pieces and steam it in vegetable steamer.smear the drumstick pieces with ginger paste, turmeric and chili powder, coriander powder and a dash of salt. Fry these pieces till they are crisp and brown.

Garnish them with freshly grated coconut and serve it as an appetiser with tangy tomato chutney.
