Some of them raised such relevant issues that they gave their political rivals a serious run for their money.

Ilona Staller, an adult star of Hungarian descent was elected to the Italian parliament as a candidate from the Green party, in 1987. Her pet issues were human rights, NATO membership as well as being against nuclear energy.
