Asian themed salads to perk-up McDonald’s fallen image

asian saladas1McDonalds is not leaving a single stone unturned to give an answer to the recent allegations on fast foods sold by the fast food giant. Recent reports say that not only has it started to offer get fit Happy Meal, but it is also going to launch its Asian themed salads all over the US to round-off the health food propaganda. The new McDonalds salad is made of edamame (soybeans), snow peas, red bell peppers, toasted almonds, mandarin oranges and up to 16 types of fresh greens, with an accompaniment of all-natural Newman’s Own Lighten Up Sesame Ginger salad dressing and grilled chicken. McDonalds may have hundred and one ways to improve its fallen image, but taking into consideration the consumer preferences for flavor, salad combinations and price, McDonalds has it all.

Bill Lamar, chief marketing officer at McDonald’s USA:

This is not a last-minute reaction. We want to do our part to keep our customers active and achieve balance in their lives.

Was Lamar speaking of the reaction of Wendy’s and Jack in the Box in response to the Asian salad launch? Even if McDonalds was inspired from Wendy’s salad, the blend of beans in the salad has made McDonalds salad quite an original creation to encourage people to try new salads.
