Aunt Millie’s Bakery to enter Organic Market

organic breadAunt Millie’s Bakeries in Fort Wayne has recently got a certification from USDA for four of its organic breads and as per fats this certification was given on the basis of 95 percent weight of the bread, which proved to be organic with the exclusion of salt and water. The four organic breads are Hearth Organic 100 percent Whole Wheat Bread, Hearth Organic Flax Seed Bread and Hearth Organic Indian Whole Grain Bread.

The marketing director at Aunt Millie’s Bakeries, Melissa Dunning hopes to enter the retail locations, specializing organic foods with the 100 percent organic breads, taking advantage of the preference of consumers with respect to organic foods fighting out the obesity epidemic in the US. As per Corinne Alexander, assistant professor at Purdue University in West Lafayette:

There is a great perception in the consumer’s mind that organic means healthy, and so this is a great marketing strategy. The USDA’s new diet guidelines have made a real emphasis on whole grain (and Aunt Millie’s Bakeries new products are all whole grain.
