Food Standards Agency has finally given a verdict on the long pending salmonella findings at the Cadbury factory in Marlbrook, Herefordshire. The Guardian has reported that the FSA has dotted the areas of Salmonella infestations in and around the Cadbury factory and on the basis of this evidence is going to prosecute Cadbury under environmental health laws.

Earlier findings had showed that Cadbury knew products had salmonella even before it was earned by the Health Protection Agency and despite the warnings the former had apparently showed neglect in reporting of the contamination to the FSA. Current findings claim that apart from leaky factory pipes the factory had machinery, which violated the healthy production standards set by the FSA.

Cadbury in an attempt to save its brand reputation had conducted unethically to its core by giving a clean chit to the distribution of contaminated products and not taking responsibility of the huge loss done to the health of consumers. Doubtless Cadbury will be facing a huge loss in terms of money and consumer goodwill if it does not restore its brand reliability through its all new premium Dairy Milk product.

Even if Cadbury’s new confectionery is laced with nutrients, question remains how efficiently it can clean-up the contaminated past of Cadbury’s products from the minds of the consumers.
