Cadbury invests in dark chocolate to recoup salmonella-losses

flakesCadbury Schweppes has perhaps planned to recoup sales by rolling out new chocolaty chews for the consumers. The loss of seven well-known brands in June following the salmonella findings in the chocolate samples, has not stopped Cadbury to innovate on three new chocolates, Cadbury Flake Dark, Dairy Milk Melts and Cadbury Highlights .

The news is that Cadbury is with a new set of claims altogether. In the new chocolate Highlights it claims to give a special treat to those who prefer to go sugar-free and facts provide that it is an extension of Highlights drinking chocolate brand. To add to this autumn debut is lined-up two products that assert the benefits of dark chocolate, trendy textures and flavors.

With a reported innovation and investment in dark chocolate there are chances that the new products might just click and make good the losses from the salmonella scare. But what has Cadbury done to convince customers on quality check is a matter that Cadbury needs to clarify, before giving more than one innovative, trendy or healthy products in order to get the consumers munching on them and primarily recoup sales.
