Frequently asked questions:

Q: How to Make a Classic Club Sandwich?

A: It is similar to any ordinary club sandwich in many ways but as the name suggests it has elements of the plain classic sandwich thrown in for good measure. Here you use Bibb lettuce in place of Romaine lettuce and also bring in variation by adding slices of cucumber, tomatoes and cheese slices if desired. Some people also go in for slices of hard boiled eggs for that little bit of something extra. Considering the extra ingredients, the preparation time for a classic club sandwich would be slightly more than a normal club sandwich but its definitely worth the effort.

Quick Tips:

  • You can serve your sandwich with potato chips and a dill pickle or a chilli garlic sauce.
  • You can change the topping according to your choice. For example, you can substitute the mayonnaise with salad cream or cocktail sauce. Or, you can add some cheese on top of the turkey slices.Though primarily prepared with turkey, it can also be prepared with ham, chicken or beef depending upon individual preferences.

Things To Watch Out For:

  1. Cut your sandwich into two equal halves diagonally with the help of a serrated knife; this will make eating the sandwich much easier.
  2. While toasting the bread, make sure that you do make it too crisp or crunchy. Ideally the bread should be lightly toasted.
  3. Make sure that the lettuce which is a prime ingredient is fresh and crisp and not wilted for that special taste.
