Coke’s new Coffee Pods might prove to be a hard brew

coffee pods 1Followed by slamming down by pesticides and anti-carbonated propagandas, Coke is reported to a take a sharp turn towards selling coffee and tea, apparently under a new brand name Far Coast. Facts provide that Coke is planning to install coffee and tea pods at restaurants, which it claims would keep the consumers from deviating to Starbucks.

Refuting this fact is the assertion made by John Sicher, editor and publisher of industry newsletter Beverage Digest, who does not find coke spreading the installation of coffee and tea pods to retail chains to give a direct fight to Coke.

Ultimately, it will be for the benefit of Coca-Cola not to give a fight to the big boss of coffee brews at a stage when the former’s reputation is at stake. Moreover, single-cup coffee brewing is a very competitive job and carving a niche in this category requires Coca-cola delivering freshness and a smooth flavor to consumers in every cup.

Though it is difficult to make a buck in this beverage, Coca-Cola can learn something from its rival brand Pepsi, which is doing well with its Trans fat free Frito Lay chips.
