Comfort foods redefined as Food packaging becomes functional

goonkjnkFood industry is busy with making their product-packaging more functional as the consumers are getting busier. Daniel Bone, Datamonitor consumer analyst and author pinpoints at the laziness of the consumers and parallel to this he points out the failure of certain products, which fail to coax on this mechanical trend of food consumption.

Why, I call this as mechanical because people do not have time to sit and have their food at leisure. Forget about having foods at leisure they can’t even have quick bites at ease. May be after some days the food industry has to design food packets, which automatically feed the consumers. Whatsoever, it may be Dip & Go product, has already spent £3.5 million to market its product as a convenience food. The food industry is solely concentrating on making resealable products, self-warming cans and on-the go foods more than the food design and food processing. The consumer, may not eat the whole packet at one go, therefore resealeable packets would avoid creation of mess on storage; and self-warming cans as they cater to the desire of having hot foods by the consumers.

The convenience foods trend to a certain extent would dismiss the health food factor, if the in between snacks do not fulfill the nutritional requirements of the consumers.
