Dark Chocolate picks up innovations to benefit trade

The Expo was a conglomeration of a variety of dark chocolates representing different brands that exalted the dark chocolate benefits in different ways.

The Dark chocolates listed out in Confectionary News comprised Botticelli’s dark chocolate fortified with omega-3 fatty acids, Ghirardelli’s Intense Dark Gourmet Chocolate Bars with intense flavors of cocoa, Espresso Escape with a rich blend of coffee beans and dark chocolate, Madeline and Chocolate Bowl claimed their dark chocolates to be nutritious.

The expo was an interesting balance between healthy and indulgent chocolates. These dark chocolate products have supposedly contributed to high sales in the confectionary sector in the past one-year.

This year has witnessed rising innovations in dark chocolates, with the manufacturers determined to attach health standards to the flavor profile of dark chocolate and vice-versa. What remains to be proven is the intense balance of health and flavor can make a better difference on sales.
