The younger son of popular ex-PM Indira Gandhi was perhaps a nuisance for her, as he undermined her political authority. While he asserted unauthorized powers in the Indian political system, he also had several flings with women before he finally married Maneka Gandhi. Nobody in the family, including Indira Gandhi, liked Maneka. In fact, it is said that Indira wanted to get rid of Sanjay because he was trying to snatch the ruling powers from her.
This autocrat son blackmailed his mother regarding his parentage. While there were a few failed assassination attempts on Sanjay, he lost his life in the crash of his new glider. There were unnatural reasons identified for this crash. Still, Indira hardly showed a concern to get the death investigated.

Wife of Indian politician Shashi Tharoor, Sunanda created a twitter controversy before her death. Before she died in her hotel room in Delhi, she had targeted a Pakistani journalist MehrTarar of being in a relation with her husband. When the initial investigation was done on her dead body after it being reported to be found by her husband, the reports indicated a suicide. However, it later turned to her having a drug overdose and some injury marks. It was then declared a murder case that stays unresolved.
