Department of Health and Human Services rejects FDA’s food safety plan

The plan of U.S. Food and Drug Administration regarding toughening the regulations for handling fresh produce hasn’t got a warm reception. The FDA’s plan was reportedly rejected by the officials of the Department of Health and Human Services. As per the FDA, their current approach and system has failed to put a full stop on the problem of increasing food-borne illnesses. The meeting was arranged after the reports of E.coli outbreak in bagged spinach.
