Followed by the $25,000 dinner titled as Epicurean Masters of the World, Lebua luxury hotel, Bangkok is reported to host yet another grand and expensive feast at the Pyramids in Egypt on Dec 12th, 2008. Facts provided claim that the dinner will be concocted by 30 3-star Michelin chefs, who would be cooking a 40-seat dinner for 17 people each, priced at $10,000 per person.

Though there is similarity in the luxury of the gourmet fare, yet the difference is in the exhaustive menu comprising of cuisines all around the world. Bangkok does not make any special mention of Thai cuisine, may be because it claims to preserve the Seven Wonders of the World more than promoting Thai cuisine.

Doubtless that the treat to millionaire would be rare and ethnic, yet it does not guarantee authenticity as it is cooked by French chefs instead of getting chefs of different cuisines prepare regional dishes. However, as long as culinary industry contributes to the preservation of cultural heritage, authenticity really does not matter.
