A recent report reveals that the restaurant chains in South Cotabato are going to line the national highway running from Polomolok up to Sto. Nino town, with restaurants and food chains. These restaurant chains would serve exotic foods and local delicacies to the foreign tourists who pass by the place or come to visit the nearby towns. As per Sonny Esguerra, president of the Association of Caterers and Restaurant Owners (ASCRO) in South Cotabato:

The group wants to make the province a premiere food destination to lure local and foreign tourists.

The highway is named as “food festival highway” and the restaurant is going to explore all the possibilities throws to the chains by the location. The food establishments are going to make use of the farm produce brought in by the farmers. To quote Esguerra:

This is aimed at establishing added attraction for tourists and a link for products coming from the barangays.

This festival is going to do the maximum use of tilapia and hito, and pineapple in the Pinyasadyahan festival thereby promoting the produce of the province. In a nutshell the ‘food festival highway’ is going to tap the exotic foods of the province, using the local ingredients.
