Garlic moves from seasonings to fodder to add flavor to beef

beef22 7Study revealed by Dr. Varda Shkapf, an expert on parasites at the Veterinarian Institute at the Agricultural Ministry reported that garlic-laced hay not only prevented the occurrence of ticks in cattle, but also made the beef tastier.

Earlier research shows similar revelations for dogs and other pets where consumption of garlic in small quantities makes the animal inedible to ticks. However, studies on prevention of ticks with garlic have been apparently successful until now, but it is dicey to give a verdict on the claims of flavor enhancement by garlic-laced hay.

Facts provide that garlic being the common seasoning in meat, enhances the natural flavor of meat without overpowering, but there are no evidences to prove that ingestion of garlic enhances the flavor even after reacting with the chemical juices inside the cattle’s digestive system.
