15th annual Mountain Oyster Fry, in Virginia, is not going to fry oysters for you but giving you the most innovative recipe made from sheep balls. The sheep testicles are called as Oysters and these sheep balls are derived from sheep, whereas Rocky Mountain Oysters and Prairie Mountain Oysters are derived from bulls. This festival is actually a contest, where ‘gonadologists’ or the guys who cook up the gonads will be squashing 20 pounds of balls and they will judged on the basis of overall taste, use of flavors, presentation and best first time entree.
As per Jett Aguilar, chair of this year’s cookoff:
[The cooks are] all officially known as ‘gonadologists’ and they actually think that’s just great.
Well, I got a new entree to my Weird Food Collection and weirdest of all the humor the gonadologists create when they say it is a good feeling in culinary industry to be called as ‘good gonadologists’.
