New York’s Serendipity restaurant created a “Grand Opulence” sundae at the outset of its 50th anniversary. This luxury worth $1000 marks all gold. I haven’t yet planned to have it, but Boing Boing reports about the most expensive ingredients into the making of this most expensive sundae. The base of this dessert contained 5 generous scoops of the premium Vanilla ice-cream made with a blend of Tahitian Vanilla beans and Madagascar Vanilla. The scoops are decked-up with 23k edible gold and imagine the garnish; you will know that it has adhered to the purpose of a garnish. The sundae is garnished with the extra-bitter Italian Amedei Porceleana and the gourmet Chuao Chocolate; candied fruits from Paris; truffles, Marzipan cherries and gold dragets.
The topping on a sundae is like a precious gem on the crown. It is topped with dessert caviar, in a small glass bowl. This is Grande Passion Caviar, which is procured from sturgeon and treated with passion fruit liquor. Serendipity guys dare serve this classy sundae in cheap dessert bowl. They have given it a perfect serve in a baccarat Harcourt crystal goblet, a wine goblet, and accessories to go with it are a 18k gold spoon, a petite pearl spoon and a flanked on one side with a gilded sugar flower.
In a nutshell is the sundae worth $1000 or is $1000 worth the sundae.
