Hardee’s Cheesesteak: Calorific imitation of the original

hardeesHardee, a chain of CKE Restaurants Inc., based in Carpinteria, California, has rolled out the most sinful, highly calorific meat laden sandwich. The Philly Cheesesteak Thickburger, which was launched on Tuesday, consisted of a thick slice of Angus beef patty, along with both Swiss and American cheeses, green peppers and onions, finally topped with a thin slice of steak meat, and this rounds-up to 930 calories, along with 63 grams of fat, and 24 grams of saturated fat. Brad Haley, executive vice president of marketing Hardee’s claims:

We actually found in this case, the only way to make a burger taste like a cheesesteak was to literally put the steak on it.

Huh! This is not only demoralizing for those fighting against the obesity epidemic, but also to fast food chains, culinary and food industry who are constantly trying their best to deliver healthy foods to their consumers. Well, this sandwich is also not a culinary landmark or achievement in anyways as a perfect Philly Cheesesteak is not easy to make and it never uses thin slices of steak and a single slice is chopped and pushed inside the roll. Therefore the claim of Brad Haley, executive vice president of marketing for the St. Louis-based chain does not have quite a solid ground.
