Give it to the Japanese who made the concept of instant noodles a super hit. Now, you have Hotto! Raisu ( No translation required I guess) coming from another Japanese firm.

Hotto! Raisu is specially packed rice that has been pre-cooked by subjecting it to 4,000 times the normal atmospheric pressure. By doing so, the developers say, the rice could hold the moisture for longer durations and retain its softness. When you pour COLD (not HOT!) water over the packet, the exothermic agent in the pack warms the rice and you have piping hot rice in 15 minutes. They even have a bottle of mineral water as part of the package,so you don’t have to worry about unclean water too.
It could be of great use not only to travelers (especially in power-free zones), but also an excellent resource for those affected by natural calamities such as floods, famines and earthquakes.

Okay, so don’t expect this to be cheap, be ready to shell out 10,000 yen for 30 packs. So, now that you have piping hot rice in front of you, what do you eat it with? I’m sure the manufacturers will come with some appetizing instant side dishes too! Flavored rice ( Lemon rice, fried rice!) could be another good idea too.

Folks, you got to see it to believe it, check out the video of the rice cooks up and get convinced about the product.
