Indian Idol 5 – Goes To A Qualified Singer – Upcoming Singers Lost Any Kind Of Hope
I have never seen such a bad experience through which other participants went through. From the Audition round itself, he made it clear that he is already singing for south indian films.

How can Indian Idol consider him for a competition amongst the upcoming singers. This is a biggest joke of the year and worst experience for the upcoming singers.

Sreeram is already a qualified and well groomed singer. Think about the other participants standing in long queue, day after day they tried improving themselves. Indian Idol judges were purely partial and ready to leave a better singers who were not their favourites.

From the 1st round itself, we saw major disappointments. What Indian public was to give a best voice to this music industry.

In fact, Sreeram should have been provided singing contract in the industry without his need to participate in this event. Because of him, others were just emotionally fooled for the Indian Idol when everyone knew that they will finally see Sreeram only.

Indian public forgot everything and followed the well qualified singer and kept voting for him. They never ever thought that they are depriving all the hardworking and upcoming singers who were there to prove themselves. Just give a second thought, were all of the singers that bad that they always found themselves in the danger zone.

Just think about the other candidates really trying their best and giving their all out to improve and they succeeded to do that to some extent. Judges always found some or the other reason to show faults in them.

Eventhough, Sreeram won this event, we felt no happiness because he is a qualified singer and already in business. If this industry wanted to help him really, they could have rightaway awarded multiple singing contracts.

So, dear Indian public please vote for the upcoming singers next season. They really need your motivation and help to reach those heights. South Indian music is far ahead in classical as well as western and that is the reason, it comes so naturally to them. How about other regions of india where participants are really trying hard to come up with such challenges.

Voting is done with sympathies in their minds. Last 3 seasons we have seen this happening:

2010 : Rakesh Maini was Sunidhi’s favourite and I found one fault, he was singing through his nasal when going on high scale. If you really have doubts, go to youtube.com and download his performances. You would really come to know. It is a shame that Shivam had to loose out and Judges using their veto power for Rakesh, Shivam was the only singer for which judges should have used that power but, they misused it.

2009 : Saurabhi was the correct choice but think over again, who was his competitor – Kapil Thapa. Was he that good – though he is from my native place I do not support the candidates for whom sympathies are shown. Because he is Army he was carried forward till the final. Was he really worth of a final place when most of the better singers lost to this Army guy.

2008 : This was the worst as the Amit Paul from Mizoram who was the most deserving one, worth taking up the prize ended up as a runners up to the Nepalese cum Darjeeling guy – Prashant Tamang.

So, Voting in India is full of partiality and since our people are highly emotional, they end up voting for the unworthy candidates. Looking to their poor conditions of living, they try to get that candidate out of poverty. But, does this act really help them becoming an upcoming singer – NO.

See, Abhijeet Sawant – he is still working so hard for success and has a great voice too. He needs right kind of breakthroughs. Contracts from Yashraj films could have given him one chance to let him prove himself.

God Help sincere and upcoming singers. Struggles go on and people end up being emotionally fooled. When they had Sreeram already in their mindset then why they had to carry this 2 month long competition.

Previous three seasons if you do some soulsearching, we would find so many talented singers going down and out of their singing careers. Were they so bad not to be considered a single chance. Good singers come and get lost in the woods because they know it very well, it is not easy coming back.

I like Sunidhi’s singing abilities but not her partialism and undue criticism. Love Anu Malik’s music but not overlooking other singers when many of them really deserved a look in.

Aren’t these established singers and music directors playing with our new generation of singers.

I respect Sreeram’s achievement as a singer. He is surely going to stay in this industry for long. Indian Idols competition was not required as he is already a good singer. Because of his great singing abilties other candidates were deprived of the opportunity.

Just think a person who can sing breathless with Shankar Mahadevan – does he require such competition. Infact, the industry should have invited him to this industry without giving tests.

Sreeram won Indian Idol prize – one way we feel very happy for getting him recognition but at the same time – other singers were just overlooked. 2-Crores award and a contract with Yashraj Films is not everything. We should have considered other finalists by granting them better contracts. They were not that bad.

I was forced to write this article of my conscience as I am seeing wrong things happening to the deserving ones. If this event goes on then – Let’s invite established singers viz. Sonu Nigam, Sunidhi Chauhan, Ghoshals, Asha Bhonsle. Let them take away this opportunity from the people showing so much of courage in showing up participating. Dancing to their judges and indian public tunes.
