Kellogg targets children with its new Coco Pops cereal

kellogg popsKellogg is targeting the children with their favorite chocolate, but in form of cereals so that they can have more cereals with the addition of chocolate to it. This addition was to its existing Coco Pops brand, now known as Coco Pops Chocolate Straws. These are crunchy wafers filled with smooth chocolate, which will be placed in the cereal shelves of major supermarkets.

Kellogg has also come up with the Coco-Monkey theme to feature in the cereal’s ad. It has also come up with a funny punch line that goes:

If you think breakfast cereal sucks, you’re absolutely right. With Coca Pops Straws you suck the milk and munch the straw.

This punch line will be on the transparent cereal packet with nutritional labeling, which is designed for the parents and consumers to see through the contents.

The product is designed to get children eating the cereal but it could have been more functional with the use of whole-foods in the wafer and dark-healthy chocolate in the middle with other healthy formulations. But until children have the straws with milk it is good for children and for Kellogg.
