KFC becomes first food chain to ‘junk’ Trans fats from junk foods

KFC might be the first fast food chain to slash Trans fat foods from its menu as KFC is reported to have announced to ban the use of partially hydrogenated vegetable oil in 5,500 of its restaurants in the US by April 2007. Facts provided point out that Kentucky Fried chicken and potato wedges contain a total of 279kcal enveloping cholesterol, saturated fats and sodium.

Followed by the failure of McDonalds ‘Go Green’ menu of salads and Walt Disney’s most awaited Trans fat free foods, the attempts of KFC to use Trans fat free oil will be scrutinized on the basis of final flavor and texture, and any alteration in this might effect the expectations of consumers form KFC.
