Takeru Kobayashi has done a hatrick this year, gobbling down 53 3/4 frankfurters in 12 minutes, grabbing Mustard Belt for a sixth straight time, in the annual Independence Day hot dog eating competition on Coney Island.
This time the guy who followed him closely was Joey Chestnut who had beaten him last year at the 14th Annual Wing Bowl Competition.
When Joey finished at 52, Kobayashi broke his own record of 53-1/2 set two years ago. The unbeatable Kobayashi managed to do it all the time this year…uh!
Last time Kobayashi had packed $25,000 with pan-seared cow brains to, but this time the prize money has not been disclosed except that constipated and tired look at Kobayashi’s face, with the mustard belt in one hand.
