It’s become a ritual of sorts for Indian Cricketers to marry after the World Cup. This time, it’s Suresh Raina who tied the nuptial knot with his childhood friend and love Priyanka Chaudary on April 3 (five days after conclusion of the ICC world cup 2015).

Going by the marriage date, it seems to have been placed just perfectly between the World Cup and the new season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Earlier, the Roka ceremony of Suresh Raina and Priyanka Chaudhary was held on the March 12, while the new couple got engaged recently, on April 1 in Ghaziabad, in a closed ceremony attended by friends and family.
The Indian middle order and Chennai Super King’s star batsman Suresh Raina is known to the cricketing world all bright and clear; while his would-be better half, the shy Priyanka Chaudhary, has maintained quite a low-profile. It is, therefore, fitting (just ahead of the wedding ceremony) to unravel some unknown facts about Priyanka Chaudhary and know more about who this charming new Indian daughter-in-law actually is.
Resident of Meerut, UP
Priyanka Chaudhary’s family resides in Meerut currently. Priyanka’s family belongs to Baraut in Uttar Pradesh, where they first lived before shifting to Meerut.
Two siblings
Priyanka Chaudhary has two brothers, Abhishek Choudhary and Vivek Choudhary. Both are software engineers by profession. While Abhishek works in Chennai, Vivek is a software engineer in Greater Noida.

Suresh Raina and Priyanka Chaudhary’s mother are said to be close friends. And, their fathers have been colleagues in a private firm – they worked together at the Muradnagar ordinance factory. Though, Suresh and Priyanka have been friends since childhood (thanks to their parents), the love affair is onlysix odd months old. It is believed that Raina fell in love with Priyanka when he was on a Cricketing tour to Bengaluru, where Priyanka was working.
A proficient student
Priyanka has been a meritorious student. She has finished her Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (B-Tech) from Krishna Institute of Engineering and Technology (KIET), a prestigious institute in Ghaziabad.
An independent girl
Priyanka has not only been a good student, she is an independent and confident professional as well. She had been working in Bengaluru previously, but currently the IT professional is working as a Banker in Amsterdam, Netherlands. However, there are strong rumors about Priyanka planning to leave her job in Amsterdam after marriage in order to move back to India and be with Suresh Raina.
Not a cricket fan at all
Not that there is a qualification per se, that you have to be a cricket fan to marry a cricketer. But ideally you’d expect so in India. However, it’s not the case with Priyanka. Yes, she does find time to watch Suresh play, but basically she is a football fan. She is believed to be a big time fan of Lionel Messi (Argentina, FC Barcelona) and Robin van Persie (Netherlands, Manchester United).
Not a big fuss girl
Indian Premier League season is right around the corner; in fact, Raina and his team play their first match on April 9, just six days after the wedding. A reason Raina has canceled any honeymoon plans to be available for the IPL games. Priyanka has taken Raina’s decision sportingly and has agreed on the plans of a honeymoon in Milan after the IPL season.
