Most expensive slice of cheese toast at £345

cheese toast 2A renovation of a classic snack can cost you a mint…even if it is a classic cheese toast, costing £345 a slice. The cheese toast is recreated by Tom Bridge from Newburgh, Lancashire, in order to commemorate the National Cheese on Toast Day, to be celebrated on April 27th in Lancashire. Well, the renovation has cost Bridge more than what it is priced by the creator. A report reveals that the ingredients include L’Aquila White Umbrian truffles at £1,400 per kilo, and Matsutake Chinese mushrooms, at £250 per lb.

A version of this cheese toast will be up for a sale on an internet auction site at eBay and the person who will pay the highest for this exotic cheese toast will get an opportunity to get a demo of the recipe at chef’s home. As the bidder gets the toast, the proceeds from the toast would go to the Macmillan Cancer Support. Those who have come across my previous post on the $148 Mcdonald Sandwich, would definitely go for the comparatively expensive slice of cheese toast…well, remember it is for charity.
