New Chocolate Beer, more authentic and less trendy

chocolate beer 7Flavored beers have gained momentum in the alcoholic beverages sector and the latest manifestation in this category is the chocolate-flavored beer, formulated by SABMiller plc. Facts provided claim that the beer named as ‘Frederick Miller Classic Chocolate Lager‘, is manufactured with six malts and one of the malts include dark chocolate malt and cacao nibs.

Apart from the assertion of fusing in brewing methods used by Miller Brewing’s founder Frederick Miller in 1855 and latest brewing techniques, the chocolate lager apparently targets at delivering a rich and smooth beer without being too overbearing with chocolate flavor.

There is no point of functionality in this beer, except the fact that beer lovers will experience another chocolate beer amidst all other fruit flavored beers, which asserts to give a gourmet element with authentic chocolate blending. Unlike the first chocolate beer developed by Brewing in south London, this beer does not intend to cater to the taste of women to break the masculine associations with beer.

However, chocolate was fast becoming a pair with beers and that might have inspired the manufacturer to put chocolate directly into the bottle for the bitter-sweet hint along with the flavor of malt.
