Palm fruit chutney

palmsSummer is the time to freak out with vegetables and I like cooked fruits to adorn my lunch table as a side dish. I am going to share about an all-new Palm Fruit chutney that can be served as an accompaniment to seafood, meats, vegetables and also salads. The recipe is as follows:

Ingredients

Seeded Palm Fruit
Cinnamon Powder
Honey
Whole Red Chilies
Mustard Seeds
Salt
Oil

Method

1. Stew the Palm fruit in a little water. Make a pulp out of it, add honey as per required sweetness and set aside.

2. In a small pan heat oil add mustard seeds, whole red chilies. After they start spluttering add palm fruit pulp and salt.

3. Simmer the sauce for some time and garnish it with roasted cumin powder and freshly roasted red chili powder.
