Probiotics fake when less than 10 million per bottle…

yogurt proGlenn Gibson, professor of food microbiology at the University of Reading has recently warned of the fake probiotic label on the food products sold by food chains with the exception of renowned labels like Yakult, Danone, Muller or Nestle. A report elaborated that the trend of addition of probiotic to food product to balance the depletion of healthy bacteria has given a chance to many food manufacturers to hook the consumers on the web.

The warning is not to confuse the consumer but to clarify that dairy products like yogurt have natural probiotic, but when these bacteria are transferred to non-dairy products, the consumers need to be a bit biased.

There might be strings attached to those intolerant to lactose but facts provide that those who go for probiotic should look out for lactobactilli or bifida bacteria on the container labels. Probiotic is the latest trend in the food and beverage industry and the lack of a quality check has led the food manufacturers scandalize the consumers with a fake label. Therefore, the consumers need to be aware of what probiotic they are taking if the content is less than the suggested 10 million per bottle.
