Restaurant offering $1000 pizza, pushing pizza to upscale menu

caviar pizza 7Nino’s Bellisima Restaurant on Second Avenue, Manhattan, has reportedly unveiled a $1000, 12-inch pizza, topped with creme fraiche, chives, eight ounces of four different kinds of Petrossian caviar, four ounces of thinly sliced Maine lobster tail, salmon roe, and seasonings comprising of spices with wasabi.

Restaurant owner Nino Salimaj has apparently priced four slices of this 12-inch luxury pie at $250 each and claims that his luxury pie would soon enter the upscale line of gourmet foods.

Closely following the list of ingredients of expensive foods with caviar, truffles, cheese and lobster, this $1000 pie is not a great deal different in variety. Though very close to the $4000 James Bond pizza, yet the $1000 pizza does not hold-up the dough for charity nor does it display the richness Bond pizza in terms of ingredients. Therefore, the pizza offering can not be termed as the most expensive, except in terms of a restaurant-offering.

However, there are chances of the pizza to appeal diners having a sophisticated palate with a flair for new flavors, to try out the caviar and lobster on top of a pizza, but it is still very early to determine the worth of paying 1000 bucks for a pizza in lieu of Chinese or French cuisine.
