Rome restaurants duping tourists with high beer rates

beer drinkA recent incident speaks of fraudulence in one of the restaurants in Rome, where a tourist from Hong Kong was charged 990 euros for 10 euros worth of beer. As per as evidence from the office of Rome’s mayor:

The unwary visitor received the bumper bar bill for a drink sipped near Rome’s most famous street, Via Veneto, where beers usually cost as much as 10 euros.

As per available facts the tourist reported the matter to the police, but was not understood as the Roman police failed to understand the matter, which was reported in English.

It is quite possible that when beer was refined all over the world, the barbarian crudeness got filtered down to Rome, as a result of which many tourists carry back a bad report of the restaurant sector in Rome.
