The Russian government has started acting like a conservative guardian that tries to foster so-called values in its children with a strict hand. In the recent years the rate of child birth in Russia decreased alarming the government and now it has decided to intervene in the personal affairs of the public. There are many problems that plague the Russians. The rate of violent crimes has gone high up with men dying in street fights or accidents and it tops the list of alcohol abuse among all the nations. The Russian society has also declined in terms of moral values and social ethics giving rise to divorce cases and live-in relations. All this has inspired the Russian government to enact the role of the moral police.
To counter the demographic crisis the government has made a 12 year plan. If the rate of mortality keeps going up and the birth rate goes down steadily it can take the proportion of national crisis in any country. The Russian government is doling out prize and punishment equally for the mass so that the problem they are facing currently can be tamed. They have announced that families that are raising more than 2 kids will be given better medical facilities, housing support and better education facilities. At the same time people who get divorced will have to give high taxes for committing crimes against children. Alimony is being used as a legal tool to keep the married people stay inside their wedlock. It has been declared may the Russian be poor or rich he/ she have to pay alimony. Abortion is being prohibited using different stringent rules and laws.
Sergei Ivanov, the chief of staff of Kremlin, has announced that art works of high moral and family value have been commissioned by the government. Duma has passed a legislative bill that bans all sorts of promotion of unconventional sexual relationships or homosexual relationships. According to Vitaly Milonov, who was the main propagator of anti-homosexual ban, has declared that homosexuality is a disease that can be overcome by the medicines of fasting and prayers. The Russian Orthodox Church is gaining prominence for speaking against homosexuality, abortion and divorce. May be the Russian society will turn back to ancestral practices once again and make divorce a crime against divinity in the near future. It would have been a lot more ethical if the Russian government tried to save men from drug abuse and alcoholism and propagated an agenda for adoption among the gay couples.
