Sharon to exhibit her naked Body in Bread-Art

body breadIf you remember my previous post on Body-Sushi, then you will be able to relate better the incredible experience of eating off bites from someone’s body. The above image is a naked body of a woman, which is actually a loaf…a body of bread. This bread was baked by Sharon Baker from Epsom, Surrey. This bread was baked with 24 eggs and it weighs almost 36 kilos and is 5’3″ long. Hats Off to the feat of Ms Baker, as she was all in plaster to make the mold for her “loaf-caricature”. After the dough was rolled out of her mould it was baked in the biggest oven available at Brooklands College, Weybridge. This bread was baked on Friday and will be on display at an exhibition in London’s Docklands on Sunday.

This food art depicts the frailty of life as Ms Baker was inspired to give shape to this reality in the shape of bread as she reflects an early death of her friend, who died of breast cancer. What can describe this rare piece of food art, but her own words on it:

It was prompted by the sad and early death of a friend from breast cancer. I wanted to create a body in something that would decay like the human body does. The fragility of life really strikes home when somebody dies young.

Hey Guys the Body of Bread is undoubtedly EDIBLE.
