Speyside’s finest malts to make ‘one-off’ blend

speysideSpirit of Speyside Whisky Festival is going to feature the finest of the pot-pourris, with 150 bottles of single malts from 26 Speyside distilleries, blended in a single bottle. This blend of Speyside Whisky will be smelled and tastes by Mr. Cryle, a retired master distiller from The Glenlivet, and Mr. Dodson, retired master distiller from Glen Moray. The malts in this blend are from ten year olds to the twenty one olds. Only one bottle of the whisky blend will be produced, which will be available 70cl bottle, apart from the 2000 souvenir bottles. But the main bottle will be put up for auction and I predict this bottle to sell at a very high price because it has the finest of all the Speyside distilleries and even the rare ones. If a Glenfiddich can sell for $20,000 this bottle is a blend of many several such rare whiskies. Contemplating the price of the blend Mr. Cryle said:

It’s likely that the bottle will be bought by a collector, and never be opened.

You can say the blend was made never to be sold but to be prized for what it is worth. However, this premium blend is going to draw in many whisky lovers and who would not taste all the finest Speyside whiskies skillfully crafted in a single blend.
