St. Michaels to host food and wine festival for ‘serious foodies’

food festival 11The 4th annual St. Michaels Food and Wine Festival will cover April 27-30, 2006 in Navy Point at the grounds of the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, St. Michaels, Annapolis. What is worth reporting in this food festival is that Mr. Mason, a prominent St. Michaels businessman and restaurateur, claims it to be different, by comparing it to the rise in number of food festivals and their redundancy as published in the Wall Street Journal article. As per Mr. Mason:

The reason our festival is growing in popularity each year is because we’re for the more serious ‘foodie’.

Mr. Mason is serious with what he said and that is the reason that they are conducting the food festival in the museum to give it a premier look and as far as the content of the food festival is concerned it is serious too with celebrity chefs like D.C. Coast’s Jeff Tunks, the Waldorf Astoria’s John Doherty and Dylan Schauwecker of the Kona Cafe at Disney World’s Polynesian Resort, wine tasting, live cooking demos, culinary workshops, food tasting and signing of cookbooks, three specialty wine dinners prepared by the celebrity chefs and of course a package of luxury hotels and sight scenes.

Undoubtedly, it is quite a serious a food festival with rich culinary growth for aspiring chefs, winers, foodies and of course for the culinary sector in St. Michaels, along with charities, as per the tradition of a good ‘food festival’.
