A recent development in the most popular American beverage coffee is a stomach soother, which claims to be low in acidic content. This coffee known as Folgers Simply Smooth, is manufactured by Procter and Gamble, which is trying to address the reported decrease in the consumption of coffee in America, due to stomach discomfort.
According to Mark Sterling, director of Gastroenterology at New Jersey Medical School:
The selection of beans and the specific roasting process are designed to limit the formation of compounds, such as certain phenols, that may be associated with stomach discomfort.
The problems associated to increased coffee consumption are growing, along with the number of coffee products that is growing in parallel to attract coffee lovers.
But what appears to be the climax is that the coffee manufacturers in the decaffeinated coffee category are not only adjusting the manufacturing process to make their coffee adaptable to consumer’s health requirements but also adopting claims of other manufacturers for marketing their products.
