Sunkist sliced fruits to hit shelves in the fall

A living example is Sunkist Growers Inc, who is planning to launch packed sliced fruits to be sold in be sold in grocery stores, schools and fast-food chains. These sliced fruits will be produced by Sherman Oaks-based Growers cooperative in alliance with Taylor Farms of Salinas. Sunkist aims at designing the sliced fruits in such a way that it caters to the norms of convenient foods for the consumers. It also compared the prices of the packed fruits with other sliced fruits and found that test marketing of Sunkist’s single-serving bags sold for 69 cents lesser than the expensive sliced pineapple and melon in plastic containers.

Sunkist is going to launch small bags of sliced oranges, apples, pineapple and seedless grapes. Though the sliced fruits will face a tough competition from snacks and candies, it will get the children and the guys on the run eat healthy food. The condition of good sales depends on the freshness and juicy content of the fruit. Well the Company expects that the sliced fruit venture would get million dollars in the next two years. It definitely will if people get yummy formulations to plain packaged fruits along with readymade fruits for other culinary purposes.
