Tips to make-up for cooking blunders

It is quite common with even expert chefs to mess up the dishes. We all are human beings and are liable to commit mistakes but the point lies in not letting the other person know that you have committed a mistake. I am sharing a couple of tips to make up for blunders committed while cooking.

Salty Food – If your food is over salty add tomato puree and simmer it for some more time. This tip works well for gravies. But for Creoles, sautes and stir-fries, mashed potatoes work best.

Burnt Food – Transfer the food into a separate dish, without scraping the burnt part. Add vinegar or a herbal sauce to take away the burnt smell and bland taste from the dish. If it is a gravy, always have extra spices handy to fry them if such a situation arises.

Bland Food – The simplest way is to pepper it up.

Dried Cakes and desserts – Crumble it up and moisten it with dessert sauces or whip up a creamy-fruity sauce for the purpose. So what if you are not able to serve them a moist cake.

Moist cake – Mash them and shape them into balls and decorate them with toppings.
