How to Make Tuna Souffle

Tuna souffle is a light baked cake made with tuna, egg white and egg yolk fused with some other ingredients. Tuna and eggs are the main ingredient to make perfect souffle. Souffle is a French word that means to puff up. Tuna souffle is delicious and is apt to serve as snacks. It can also be part of a multi-course meal.   1. An oven
  2. A souffle dish or large Corningware casserole
  3. Half cup margarine
  4. A quarter cup flour
  5. Half teaspoon salt
  6. Five egg yolks
  7. One cup tuna
  8. Half cup parsley
  9. One cup mushrooms
  10. Six egg whites
  11. One cup milk
  12. Two teaspoons minced onions
  13. Half cup Swiss cheese

Instructions:

1. Add flour and salt to margarine

Take a pan, heat it and add half cup of margarine in it. Add a quarter cup of flour and a half tablespoon salt in the margarine. Stir the mixture with a wooden spoon till it is done. Remove the pan from heat.

2. Add milk

Slowly and gradually add milk in the mixture till it turns into a thin liquid. When you are adding milk, stir continuously to avoid clumping of mixture as lumps in the liquid.

3. Heat the mixture

Now, when the liquid is smooth and silky put the pan back on moderate flame. Constantly keep stirring the mixture in the pan. Cook it till the liquid becomes thick and starts boiling. Now, you can remove the mixture from heat.

4. Adding other ingredients

Mince the onions finely, grate the Swiss cheese and add them both to the hot sauce in the pan. Whip an egg yolk in a bowl, do the same with the remaining five yolks one by one. Now, mix the whisked yolk stirring in the pan. Measure one cup of tuna which is drained and flaked and add it to the pan. Chop one cup of mushroom and broil it. After broiling, put it in the pan. Mince parsley leaves and add them too to the mixture in the pan. Now, leave the mixture to cool for 10 minutes. Carefully, take out six egg whites and whisk them properly in a bowl. Next, fold the egg white into tuna mixture in the pan.

5. Preheat the oven and bake

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Take a souffle dish or large Corningware casserole and put the tuna mixture to it. Now, bake it for 40 to 50 minutes till the top layer appears golden brown. Now, put a knife inside the souffle to check that the baking is done.
