WFP agencies request parties in terai for free transport of vehicles carrying food.
UN based World food programming agencies aid to help the needy and poor. Will request of WFP agencies prove to be boon to the people of Nepal? Well all parties in terai should agree to WFP proposal. This will help in healthy environment and generation of the continent. Especially people who are under poverty line they are generally shunned by higher class of people.
Due to strikes and violence along with political instability the agency still managed to succeed in gaining its main objective of providing food to the needy.
Dominique Hyde, deputy country representative of WFP in Nepal said
“It is unfortunate that during this historic time of peace in Nepal, our humanitarian operations are being disrupted which prevents us from providing adequate supply of food aid to needy beneficiaries.”
WFP could not supply adequate food products to the needy in Saptari and Siraha as it had to suspend food for its work programs.
Strikes and violence proved to be a one of the main factors for hindrances in providing adequate food. Fresh news regarding drought, riots, strikes and violence affected areas could not be provided to the WFP agency which in result affected the poor and needy.
Reasons may be any but people are suffering and fighting against hunger to survive. WFP provides basic food products needy in various continents for their survival.
