10 Best Gourmet Chocolates by Small Chocolatiers

Hershey and Godiva are not the only players in the field of gourmet chocolate and candies. This is not an assertion but a confirmation reported in the top 18 chocolates, which has specifically mentioned about small candy companies who have made their mark with their innovations in dark, white, blended, flavored and frosted chocolates.

The top 10 chocolates that are hailed best by CNN Money are as follows:

18 gchocolates 1. B.T. McElrath Chocolatier’s Kiss Me is pure temptation with chopped dark chocolate and heavy cream. The simplicity lies in the heart-shaped icing.

2. Chocolat Moderne presents luscious flavors in raspberry frosting, lychee jam and chocolate combos

3. Romanicos chipped chocolate ball looks to me more like a real truffle.

4. Garrison Confections rolls out in Godiva designs but with fuctional flavors like green tea and ginseng

5. Tribeca Treats is rich with antioxidants because of the black currant jam.

6. Lillie Belle Farms follows the same ganache design like Garrison and Tribeca but is fruity with a cherry combo.

7. Christopher Elbow Artisanal Chocolates is innovative with flavored caramel ganache.

8. Jacques Torres Chocolate features the tic-tac toe theme on its dark chocolate ganache.

9. Anna Shea Chocolates is too reasonable at $19. They deserve the best with classic ganaches formulated in port wine.

10. Recchiuti Confections are gourmet chocolates in the true sense with blended ganache and artisanal frosting.

Priced between $5 to $25 they can make the chocolate giants run for their money. However, I still am not convinced with the order of ranking as I prefer Anna Shea and Recchiuti in the top two positions rather than at the bottom two ranks.
