The rapper seems to be in a hurry to take a flight to heaven – or hell, depending on his credentials! – because he feels he will never get the amount of critical acclaim he deserves as long as he is alive, just like his idol Michael Jackson. In simple words, he wants to do an MJ, i.e., die and get famous!
The rapper was speaking to the Observer Magazine when he came out with the candid confession. Contact Music reports him as saying,
As an artist you’re greater in your absence than in your presence. Everyone liked Michael Jackson more the week after he passed away than the week before. Maybe they’ll like me more when I’m gone. I’d definitely like to be remembered as a great artist.
I know 50’s thinking is flawed beyond acceptable degrees because Jacko was a living legend whose demise will always be treated as a huge loss to the entertainment industry. And what the world experienced, or rather demonstrated after his death was just a fraction of the popularity Jacko enjoyed while he was alive.
Anyway, since it’s 50 Cent we are talking about, we are not allowed to criticize him over his statements. How old is he? Like, 12??
