America’s sweetheart Julia Roberts has been honored for her contribution to the film industry. Academy Award winner actress was awarded with 22nd Annual American Cinematheque Award at the Beverly Hilton Hotel’s International Ballroom on Friday in Beverly Hills, Calif.
Last year Roberts presented the award to George Clooney and this year she received the honor from Denzel Washington.
Tom Hanks, Natalie Portman and Sally Field applauded the 39-year-old mother of three receive her award in Beverly Hills. Roberts arrived on the red carpet in a cinched-waist, black dress by designer Diane Von Furstenberg.
Roberts stated she was most happy in her roles as wife and mother. She said, “I really am just a girl from a little town in Georgia, who had this giant, absurd dream.”
Roberts won an Academy Award for her role of a legal crusader in the 2000 film ‘Erin Brockovich.’
