Country singer Keith Urban has officially been released from rehab where he was being treated for alcohol addiction.
The country singer and his better-half Nicole Kidman were spotted out on the town Monday night after the Golden Globes at a private party.
Urban’s rep Paul Freundlich said Urban had finished treatment over the weekend and will head to Germany this week for promotional appearances. Urban, 39, entered rehab on Oct. 19, 2006.
Urban and Kidman spent some holidays together in Sydney where he was ‘on a leave’ from rehab to be with his family. His rep said at that time,
Keith is on a leave in Australia to be with his family during the holidays. This is a natural occurrence at this point in his treatment. He will continue with his rehab upon his return.
Urban is now ready to thrill his fans again and has announced he’ll play a show at the Chicago Theatre on 8 February 2007 as part of a local country radio station’s Live Country for Kids concert series. The concert will benefit the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
Urban will head to Germany on Thursday to promote ‘Love, Pain & the Whole Crazy World Tour’ this April in the United Kingdom and Germany. Later, he will tour in Australia and then in the U.S. and Canada over the summer. However, the dates have yet to be finalized.
