We Salute Hemant Karkare,Vijay Salaskar,Apte and other Martyrs of Mumbai terrorist attack.
Hemant Karkare was Chief of Maharashtra’s Anti Terrorist squad[ATS].
I met him once,when he was Assistant Commisioner of Police[ACP],at Thane.He was cousin of my friend Rakesh Pendharkar.
An IPS officer of 1982 batch,Karkare also served for India’s Research and Analysis Wing [RAW} for quite some time.
He was also heading the Malegaon Blast enquiry and two days back received a threatening also.
Hemant Karkare[54] suffered three bullet injury on his chest during the encounter with terrorist.
