Food industry in the US is stressing towards manufacture of healthy foods, and coming up with tasty and nutritious food is building up a lot of pressure. At this point of time Kellogg Company, has proved to be the pioneer of health products by substituting trans-fatty acids with low linolenic soybean oil in some of its products. Needless, to say that Kellogg was always into the manufacture of health foods, this time it has hit the niche area in the Food Industry. Kellogg is the first company to take this initiative, and is doing this with Monsanto. Kellogg will use Monsanto’s Vistive low linolenic soybean oil in place of Trans fatty acids in some of its products.
Kellogg Company being the world’s largest producer of cereals and convenience foods is all set to benefit its consumers. Kellogg Company is also planning to launch a new line of products with Vistive oils in 2006. This breakthrough will not only meet the demands of nutritious foods, but also bring huge profits to the food industry.
There might be a shortage of low-lin oil in future, but Kellogg in alliance with two major producers of soybean oil, Bunge/DuPont Biotech and United Soybean Board, will be able to meet this shortage in future. It is good to know that Kellogg found out a potential source of manufacturing quality health foods in the market, there might be many healthy substitutes, which will be able to make a balance between nutrition and taste.
